Whether your students are uncertain about their choices or want to explore their options, Ray will cover key factors to consider when advising on A-levels or other post-16 qualifications. 

This online session is suitable for Careers leaders, advisers and any teaching staff in school who provide information, advice & guidance to young people exploring post 16 options.

  • Identifying misconceptions about A levels and their purpose
  • Raising understanding of A level subject content and assessment methods
  • Raising awareness of the employability of A level subjects
  • Raising awareness of subject combinations that can maximize future options, and subject combinations to avoid, in particular in relation to higher education entry

Meet the expert

Ray has been a careers adviser since 1988. A graduate in combined social science, he has a Diploma in Careers Guidance from the College of Guidance Studies, Swanley, Kent. Ray has extensive experience of providing careers advice and guidance to young people age 13 – 19 in schools and colleges, his specialism is post 16 and post 18 qualifications and he has made numerous media appearances during examination result periods and career themed weeks such as apprenticeships and other learning pathways. Currently working for the National Careers Service, Ray’s role includes training & development of new careers advisers.
