Description
Join us for the online launch of Career Coaching for Midlife and Beyond, a new guide for career professionals supporting clients through midlife transitions and the shift beyond full-time work.
In conversation with Sarah Taylor Phillips, Dr Denise Taylor will share the insights and experiences that shaped the book — from decades of practice to her doctoral research on meaning in later life. Together, we’ll explore how career coaching can evolve to meet the changing needs of older adults, and how practitioners can help clients navigate identity shifts, purpose, and possibilities in the second half of life.
Whether you’re a coach, careers adviser, or HR professional, this session offers practical insight and reflective depth to support more meaningful midlife and later-life transitions.

About the Author
Dr Denise Taylor is a Chartered Psychologist and award-winning career and retirement coach who has spent over 40 years helping people navigate changing work landscapes and major life transitions. With a doctorate earned at 64 focused on meaningful ageing, she brings both academic depth and personal experience to her work.
Denise has written eight books on careers, midlife transitions, and later life, and has delivered pre-retirement seminars since the 1980s. Her work challenges outdated notions of retirement, offering instead a reimagined view of later life as a time of purpose, possibility, and personal growth.
Now in her late 60s, Denise combines professional coaching and thought leadership with a deep connection to nature, tending her own woodland in rural Gloucestershire and leading retreats that support reflection and renewal. Whether through writing, coaching, or public speaking, she invites others to step into later life with confidence, curiosity, and intention.
